| Season ends, relegation but no Gloom |

After a hard season, an understrength Downshire turned in their best performances of the season against the top sides. Unfortunately some strange / bizarre refereeing decisions went against them but the performances of some of the U18 players offered encouragement for next season.
After being promoted last season Downshire return to 1B after only 12 months. The promoted team lost 5 players in the close season and suffered a large number of injuries and unfortunate suspensions throughout the year. On the plus side they completed their last few fixtures against the 3 top sides and playing with a mixture of U18's and regulars, they performed admirably and gave encouragement to their supporters for next season. David Armstrong, manager has moved on because of work commitments and Ricky Graham, formerly of Dunmurry Rec and Dromara has taken over the helm. He was ably assisted by Alan Fraser and hopefully with a few breaks next season, they can be back fighting for promotion. |
