Training starts and work continues
The new league Season shall kick off for the Firsts on Saturday 9th August. This means that they shall have to probably play 3 Saturday and probably 2 mid week matches in August. In a 26 game league this is 20% of the Season so it is important to have a solid start. Training commenced on 1st July and continues 3 times weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. League matches for the Seconds and Under 18's shall not start until September.
Work has continued on completing the requirements for the new Intermediate Ground conditions for April 2009 and these hopefully will be completed and passed by early September. I am sure that the IFA will stand by their deadline this time.
In side the Clubhouse the Club has again been redecorated and special thanks are due to John Thompson who did the paintwork.
Finally the Pitch has been slitted and top dressed with 100 ton of sand, together with some reseeding and fertilising which should ensure a good surface for the start of the Season. Unfortunately to achieve this the Committee have to control the start and number of friendlies over our 4 teams, especially after the recent spell of wet weather.
